A unique art and yoga summer camp at the Frisco Discovery Center for children 6 and up.

Creative Stretch 2013: Summer Youth Arts Program

Explore yoga postures, design a city, practice breathing, paint the invisible parts of yourself, make paper, build a dome, strut in a paper fashion show, draw with lights, make your imagination a reality! Engage in hands-on art activities while working in an art studio environment. Each week concludes with a gallery exhibition and celebration. Discover new creativity this summer at Creative Stretch!

Creative Stretch 2013 Calendar:

Week 1: June 10 – 14: Creative Creatures, from observation to invention.

Week 2: June 17-21: Super-Natural and Unreal Worlds of dreams and fantasy: superheroes, fairies, dream catchers and more.

Week 3: July 15-19: Water, Fire, Earth, Air: four elements in different cultures.

Week 4: July 22-26: Moving Architecture and Dreamy Gardens

YOUR TIME AT CREATIVE STRETCH:

Lunch and Snacks

Please plan to bring your own lunch daily. We ask that each family bring extra snacks to share one day during the week. A snack-share schedule will be circulated before the start of camp. On Friday afternoons families and friends are invited to enjoy an exhibition of student artwork. If you would like to bring a potluck item at this time, it would be most welcome.

Play Time

There will be books and indoor activities available during studio breaks throughout the day. Weather permitting, we may have play time outside.

Friday afternoon exhibitions
Join us at the end of each week for a an exhibition. Family and friends are invited to celebrate your student’s week of art-making.

Daily Schedule
9:00 – 9:15 Student Drop Off

9:15 – 12:00 Morning studio session/ Yoga time

12:00 – 1:00 Lunch and recreation time

1:00 – 2:00 Guest artist/ Yoga teacher/ storyteller

2:00 – 2:30 Snack

2:30 – 4:00 Afternoon studio session/ Yoga time/ Friday Exhibition

(4:00 - 5:00 Extended hours)

PLEASE NOTE
• All artists must complete kindergarten before the start of Creative Stretch.

• Plan to pack lunch daily for your student

• We will set up a rotating snack share schedule before the start of camp.

• Camp takes place at the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 Dallas Pkwy #200, Frisco, TX 75034

• Workshop content and teaching staff may be subject to change.

• Weekly tuition includes all materials.

Payment must be made to hold your place at Creative Stretch. The full class fee and completed registration form are required to complete your enrollment.
